Pa Ranjith Questions Rolling Stone And Maajja For Sidelining Rapper Arivu

Director Pa Ranjith took to Twitter to question US-based monthly magazine Rolling Stone and music label Maajja for sidelining rapper, singer, and lyricist Arivu. Recently, the Indian edition of Rolling Stone featured singers Shan Vincent De Paul and Dhee for lending vocals to two super hit songs, Neeye Oli and Enjoy Enjaami, respectively. Both the songs were written by rapper Arivu. In addition to writing the lyrics, Arivu has also sung Enjoy Enjaami, which has crossed over 300 million likes on YouTube and is still going strong. As soon as Rolling Stone unveiled their cover, netizens called them out for not giving Aruvu due credit for the success of the two songs.

Taking to Twitter, director Pa Ranjith wrote, "@TherukuralArivu, the lyricist of #Neeyaoli and singer, as well as the lyricist of #enjoyenjami, has once again been invisiblized. @RollingStoneIN and @joinmaajja are it so difficult to understand that the lyrics of both songs challenge this erasure of public acknowledgment? (sic)." While Enjoy Enjaami is an independent single from the music label Maajja, Neeye Oli is a song from director Pa Ranjith's Sarpatta Parambarai starring Arya, John Kokken, and Dushara Vijayan in lead roles.
