We all know how hard the coronavirus pandemic has hit the Indian film industry. From the last two months, no film productions are being held. All the theaters got shut down and the releases got pushed. Small films that are ready, cannot hold the release longer as the interest rates get increased which will eventually push the producers into losses. Thus, many small films are aiming for a direct OTT release from the past few days. We now hear that long-delayed film Bhanumati Ramakrishna, starring Naveen Chandra and Sarabham will be directly streaming online on Hotstar soon.
This film is under making from the last two years. When it was all ready for the release, the theaters got shut down. Thus, the makers are now thinking that an OTT release will be the best option for this movie. Apparently, they had talks with Hotstar and a deal got signed as well. Soon, the promotions will begin on social media. By the end of this month, Bhanumati Ramakrishna will stream on Hotstar. This film got directed by the newcomer Srikanth Nagothi.
The first Telugu film to get a direct OTT release after this pandemic was Amrutha Ramam. This film got premiered on Zee5 a few days back. It received a mixed response from the audiences. Meanwhile, the OTT platforms are planning to buy many other unreleased films. Movies like V, Red, and Nishabdham also got lucrative offers for the OTT release but the producers were adamant about releasing these films directly in the theaters.
