Undoubtedly, Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao and Akkineni Nageswara Rao are two of the biggest pillars of Telugu cinema. Alongside them, there are other stalwarts like SV Ranga Rao, Mahanati Savitri, and several others, whose contributions to the field are immemorable. The legends were disrespected by Nandamuri Balakrishna recently. Naga Chaitanya took to social media and responded the same, saying that it is not right to disrespect these legends.
At the successful meeting of his film Veera Simha Reddy, Balakrishna said that his father NTR had many contemporaries like Ranga Rao, Akkineni, Thokkineni, etc. This comment obviously didn't go down well with the fans of the Akkineni family. Ever since then, Balakrishna has been heavily criticized on social media. No comment from the Akkineni family has been made until now. Now, Naga Chaitanya responded to the same on social media.
He posted a picture that reads, "Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao Garu, Akkineni Nageswara Rao Garu and SV Ranga Rao garu's creative contributions have been the pride and pillars of Telugu cinema. Disrespecting them is degrading ourselves."
While Chaitanya didn't tag or take Balayya's name in the post, it is very clear that it is intended for his comments. Truly, being in the position that he is today, Balakrishna's comments were completely in bad taste. This is something that even hardcore fans of his are not able to support.
At such a point in his career, Balayya should have been more careful. Now, it is to be seen what damage control will be done. Balakrishna's image is going through a revamp right now. At such a time, this is bad.
