N Lingusamy, who directed The Warrior, is currently facing difficulties. In a case involving check fraud, a Saidapet court has sentenced the director of Paiyaa fame to 6 months in prison. The judge sentenced Lingusamy and his brother Subash Chandra to six months in prison at a hearing today at the Saidapet session court.
After a cheque for Rs. 1.03 crore bounced, N Lingusamy was brought before the court. The production company naming PVP Capital launched a lawsuit against the director for the same after Linguswamy failed to pay back the money he had borrowed from the production house a few years back. He allegedly gave the producing company a cheque, which got bounced. The filmmaker and his brother have made the decision to re-appeal the ruling at the Madras High Court in the meantime. In 2001, Lingusamy made his directing debut with the Mammootty-starring family drama Aanandham. He is well-known for his films such as Run (2002), Sandakozhi (2005), Paiyaa (2010), and Vettai (2012).
Thirupathi Brothers is a production company owned by the filmmaker and his brother.
