Muthaiya, famed for rural action films like Komban and Viruman, is collaborating with Arya for the first time on yet another village-based feature. "The setting this time is Ramanathapuram, and the film will be about relationships and high on emotions," says the filmmaker.
While the director has focused on one specific relationship in his previous films (mother sentiment in Kutti Puli, father-in-law emotion in Komban, and so on), the director has stated that this one would feature numerous relationships. "The film's theme will be gratitude. The Thirukkural also says 'Nandri Marappathu Nandrandru.' Thankfulness is crucial to our lives regardless of who we are or our positions. It is the foundation of humanity's seven ideals. The film's story will interestingly address this," he continues to elaborate.
Siddhi Idnani, who recently made her debut in Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu, will portray the female lead in this film.
In this film, the filmmaker collaborates with his Komban crew of composer GV Prakash Kumar and cinematographer Velraj, and it will be edited by his usual collaborator Venkat Raajen. The team will begin filming with a song shoot in a Chennai studio. They will relocate to Kovilpatti, where the rest of the shoot will start on October 17.
