Meera Mithun's YouTube Channel To Be Suspended Soon, Chennai Police Take Action

Model and Kollywood actress Meera Mithun found herself neck-deep in a mess when she put out a video hurling abuses against people belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST). Viduthalai Siruthaigal Katchi leader Vanni Arasu filed a complaint against Meera Mithun regarding the viral video. Central Crime Branch Police registered a case under seven sections including the SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act. The police found Meera Mithun hiding at a hotel in Kerala along with her boyfriend Sam Abhishek. She was arrested in Kerala and brought back to Chennai to produce in front of judges.

Meera Mithun will be in judicial custody till August 27. Now, Central Crime Branch Police has given a letter to YouTube to shut down Meera Mithun's channel. In the letter, they claimed that her videos incite violence. Meanwhile, Meera Mithun and Sam Abhishek applied for bail. However, her bail petition hearing has been postponed to August 23. Meera Mithun alleged that the police have been harassing her by not giving her food. Netizens have applauded Chennai police for arresting Meera Mithun for her hate speech against Dalits.
