Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan Crosses 300 Crores Worldwide On The 6th Day

The film "Ponniyin Selvan 1" by Mani Ratnam is well received both domestically and abroad. "Ponniyin Selvan 1" reached the Rs 300 crores milestone worldwide. It is currently at around Rs 320 crores worldwide as of the end of day 6 on Wednesday (Oct. 5). Similar to the 200 crore announcement, the 300 crore announcement will made soon by the producers. The historical drama has made over Rs 110 crores in Tamil Nadu, where it is originally from. In the state, the movie has already outperformed "Beast," "Valimai," "KGF 2," and "RRR". It is just slightly behind Kamal Haasan's "Vikram." The movie's domestic take is anticipated to hit Rs 200 crores soon. Also a solid second week is anticipated.

Due to "Ponnniyin Selvan's" great occupancy and positive reviews in all five languages, several Tamil releases that were supposed to open this Friday (Oct. 7) have been postponed. The much awaited movie debuted in almost 2,000 theatres around the world. The release itself immediately set records. The film has benefited greatly from the Dussehra vacations on Tuesday and Wednesday. It currently has a very high theatre occupancy.
