As a part of a lockdown ritual, actress Suhasini has been documenting her days on by streaming live on Instagram. Her husband Mani Ratnam joins her on some occasions. In a recent live stream, the couple spoke about Aishwarya Rajinikanth approaching Mani Rathnam. They also spoke of the director's views on OTT releases.
Mani Ratnam said that Aishwarya Rajinikanth approached him to play an important role in one of her directorial ventures. Ratnam says that he rejected the offer. He said, “If my performance wasn't up to the mark, I can't demand better performance from my actors."
He also spoke about making web series and films for OTT Platforms. Mani Ratnam said that he is not interested in OTT releases and will not make any film or show for the same. He said, "All through life you played tennis. If someone asks you to play football suddenly, you can't."
The star director is now looking forward to the release of his next film Ponniyin Selvan. The film is an adaptation of the epic novel of the same name by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The film has an ensemble cast of
