It was earlier announced that the movie "Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam" would release in Tamil on January 26. Tamil Nadu's leading production company, Dream Warrior Pictures, is bringing Mammootty's film to the neighbouring state. The cinematography of the film was done by Theni Eshwar. As the film is a mix of Tamil and villages, it is expected to be well received there as well.
Mammootty's first film under the company's banner, "Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam," was first screened at the Kerala International Film Festival. The film was distributed by Dulquer's Wayfarer Films. Apart from Mammootty, the film also starred Ashokan, Ramya Pandian, Kainkari Thangaraj, T Suresh Babu, Chetan Jayalal, Aswat Ashokumar, Sanjana Dipu, and others. The screenplay of the film is by S. Harish.
The shooting of the new film, directed by Lijo Jose, has started with Mohanlal as the hero. The film is produced by John and Mary Creative, Max Labs, and Century Films. The social media campaign is saying that Mohanlal will play the role of "Chempot Simon." Mohanlal has titled the film "Malaikottai Vaaliban."
