Madras HC Issues Blanket Ban On Websites Illegally Streaming Ponniyin Selvan

The Madras HC has banned over 2000 sites streaming pirated copies of Ponniyin Selvan. The order is a strong indication of the strict laws that exist to protect copyrighted content.

Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam, is a two-part movie that was made on a hefty budget of approximately Rs 500 crores. Today saw the release of the first chapter of "Ponniyin Selvan," and reviews for the historical drama have been encouraging. the Madras High Court prohibited the distribution of unauthorized versions of "Ponniyin Selvan". The makers of "Ponniyin Selvan" have petitioned the court to prevent the publication of the movie on illegal streaming platforms because doing so could result in financial loss for them.

 
As fans can only watch the movie on enormous screens, this gives the movie more force. The producers have also asked fans to send links to "Ponniyin Selvan" pirated copies in order to make them unavailable. In order to prevent spoilers, moviegoers are urged not to post any videos or images from the theatre captured during the showing on social media.
 
In addition to other actors in major parts, "Ponniyin Selvan" also features Jayam Ravi, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Jayaram, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, and Prabhu. The soundtrack is by AR Rahman, and Ravi Varman was in charge of the photography. Today's early morning broadcasts of the eagerly anticipated movie kicked off, and viewers have given it high marks.
