Lyca Productions To Announce Rajinikanth's New Film On November 5

Superstar Rajinikanth is now starring in Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer. It was rumored that following the completion of this film, Rajinikanth had agreed to a deal to feature in two films for Lyca Productions, which had funded his last film, 2.0. The production firm has now publicly released this information through their spokesman and has told that the puja for one of the films would be done in a big way on November 5, in Chennai.

It is claimed that this movie would see the Superstar collaborate with rookie filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi, who had a hit with the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer Don earlier this year. The actor is claimed to have been quite impressed by Don and phoned the director to express his gratitude following the film's release. Lyca Productions produced Don, and the production company appears pleased with the reception of Cibi's Don.

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will allegedly make a cameo appearance in a film directed by his daughter Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and starring Atharvaa. According to sources, this project is not part of the actor's two-picture pact with Lyca Productions and may be supported by a different production company.

The director of the second film produced by the production firm is still unknown. Along with the names of younger directors Lokesh Kanagaraj, Desingh Periyasamy (of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame), and TJ Gnanavel (of Jai Bhim fame), veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam, who is coming off the record-breaking success of Ponniyin Selvan 1, is being tipped as a strong candidate. If Rajinikanth and Mani Ratnam collaborate again after 32 years, it will be the second collaboration between the two titans after Thalapathi.
