'Thalaivi' is the much-awaited biopic on legendary Kollywood actress and former Chief Minister of TamilNadu J Jayalalithaa and the shooting is currently going on with brisk pace. On the occasion of Jayalalithaa's birthday today, the makers also came up with a special poster from the movie. The film unit is happy with the response of the same. Now, the reports reveal that actress Poorna is a part of the film.
AL Vijay is helming this project. National award-winning actress Kangana Ranaut is on board essaying Jayalalithaa's role in the film. According to the latest reports, the makers of 'Thalaivi' have roped in young actress Poorna aka Shamna Kasim to play the role of Sasikala in the film. Sasikala is a close friend of Jayalalithaa and Poorna confirmed that she is going to be a part of Thalaivi. On the other hand, Aravind Swamy is essaying the role of MG Ramachandran and Jisshu Sengupta will appear as Shoban Babu. Earlier, Priyamani's name came in the news for the same role but now, we hear that Poorna might do the role.
Vishnu Vardhan Induri in association with Shailesh R Singh is bankrolling this project. The movie will hit the theaters in three different languages on 26th April 2020.
