As the country is in the state of a complete Coronavirus lockdown, couples are staying inside their houses all the time. This has led to another problem in the country which is the rising cases of domestic violence. Expressing her concern over it, actress Kriti Sanon has stepped forward to spread awareness about this issue. She also says that it breaks her heart to read such cases every day in the news.
In the video message that she shared, Kriti recites a poem which she wrote when she was young. After reading it out, she said, "It’s your life and you can control your life and only you can control your life. If you are someone who is going through domestic violence of any kind — firstly know it in your heart and mind that it is not OK for anyone to hurt you physically. Please report it."
While sharing the video message, Kriti wrote, "It breaks my heart to read that the domestic violence cases have almost doubled up during the lockdown period! About 700 cases alone in Punjab! And these are just the ones Registered! Imagine how many are not reported! If you are going through any kind of domestic violence, PLEASE REPORT!
