Actor Kota Srinivas Rao, who is known for playing menacing villain roles is known for speaking his heart whenever he gets the opportunity to do so. This time, he has lashed out at directors who fail to give opportunities to native Telugu speaking actors.
He said, “I'm not against non-Telugu actors playing roles in Tollywood, but you've to bring actors like Nana Patekar then. These people are bringing some second-grade fools and asking us to play assistants to them. And they are paying such worthless actors in lakhs and crores. I feel that this system should be changed. Cast more Telugu people and give prominence to native actors.”
Directors in Tollywood always make it a point to rope in Bollywood and Kollywood actors to play villains and heroines in Telugu films. However, not many are comfortable with the choices.
Rao also emphasized on giving importance to mother language. He said, “To grow physically you need mother's milk and to grow culturally you need mother tongue.”
