Kollywood film industry to begin post-production works amidst Corona Crisis; Government too gives green signal

COVID-19 has affected a lot of livelihoods. One can say Film Industry is the one which is the most affected. The biggies of Industry itself has raised funds and helped the needy as much as they can. Since the ease of lockdown has came into place all over, the government received a from Tamil & Malayam Film Industries. They requested permission to begin the post-production works. They wants to start the post-production works of the stalled films & television projects. They had contended with the State government that the livelihood of those involved in the industry was uncertain. Since there had been no work for them for the past 50 days due to the COVID-19 lockdown.
 
In accordance with this, the government body has granted permission to go ahead with the works with some conditions, from May 11 onwards. All the post-production works can Take place with no more than 15 people.
 
A statement came out on this regard. 'We are film producers in Tamil cinema and post the lockdown implemented from March 24 2020, all our films under production were stopped. The Tamil film industry has over Rs. 500 crore investment locked due to this lockdown including films for which only post-production work is pending. Along with FEFSI Union of workers undertake and guarantee to ensure social distancing of the people involved in post-production with all the precautions like sanitizing the places where we will be working and making all the people involved in the workwear masks and gloves'
 
Tollywood too comes with a plan of action soon.
