Keerthy Suresh's unreleased movie to skip a theatrical release; Amazon Prime Video in talks for a digital release

With the hit of COVID-19, the lockdown has been implemented all over the country and the OTT has become the only means of entertainment to all the film buffs. Since a couple of weeks, there has been a long discussion holding up regarding the release of the film directly on OTT platforms. Although most of them opted for theatrical release, there are strong suggestions got OTT platform in the view of trade & reach of the film. Now, Tamil director Karthik Subbaraj has taken a step to explore the OTT release, which might give an idea to all the industry about the reach & reaction. He produced a thriller, Penguin featuring Keerthy Suresh in the lead roles as a pregnant woman.

Santhosh Narayanan is the music director of the movie. Debutant Eashvar Karthic is the director. The shoot is over already and he is ready to release. The film's release stalled because of the pandemic. Now the unit is thinking to bring the film directly on Amazon Prime. However, an official confirmation is yet to come. Recently, another Tamil film, 'Ponmagal Vandhal', starring Jyotika, too considered for the same, for a release on Amazon Prime but this decision was met with outrage from theatre owners. Meanwhile, Keerthy Suresh has a number of projects in the pipeline. The National-award winning actor will be part of Rajinikanth-Siva’s Annathe. will also be seen in Nagesh Kukunoor's film called Sakhi. This film will mark the director Nagesh Kukunoor's debut into Telugu film industry along with 'Miss India' and 'Rang De'
