It has been a long time since Chiyaan Vikram has scored a blockbuster at the box office. His last film Kadaram Kondan also turned out to be a dud at the box office. There are high expectations on his upcoming film Cobra. Meanwhile, the much-awaited 60th film of Vikram got announced today. Tentatively called #Chiyaan60, this film will get directed by Karthik Subbaraj. Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram to play another lead role in it.
This will be the first film in the combination of Vikram and Dhruv. Anirudh Ravichander will be composing the music for it. Lalit Kumar will bankroll the film under Seven Screen Studio banner. Karthik took on Twitter to announce the same. "Happy to announce that my next directorial after #JagameThandhiram is 'CHIYAAN60' #Chiyaan60. Starring the awesome Chiyaan Vikram Sir & Dhruv Vikram. And it will be an @anirudhofficial musical. Produced by @Lalit_SevenScr @7screenstudio. So excited for this film," he tweeted. Karthik Subbaraj is currently busy with the post-production works of his upcoming film Jagame Thandhiram. The shoot of #Chiyaan60 may start rolling after the release of Jagame Thandhiram.
Meanwhile, Vikram's Cobra is currently in the final stages of its shoot. The shooting works will begin once the lockdown gets over. Directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, this film features Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead. On the flip side, Vikram is also acting in Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan. This film features Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Shobita Dhulipala in the other lead roles.
