Karthi has had a memorable 2019 with three releases in the form of Dev, Kaithi, and Thambi. While Dev turned out to be a damp squib at the box office, Karthi became a blockbuster and is now hailed as one of the best films of 2019. His recently released film Thambi is receiving positive reviews from the audience.
Now, the actor is currently in Thailand shooting for his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Mani Ratnam. It looks like Karthi has already finalized his next film. Going by the reports, Karthi will join hands with director PS Mithran, who is now basking in the success of his recently released film Hero with Sivakarthikeyan.
Reportedly, Karthi will play dual roles in this untitled film. For one of his roles, he has to sport long hair. Since the actor has already grown his long locks for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan, he will continue sporting long hair for Mithran’s film as well.
After completing Ponniyin Selvan, Karthi will resume shooting for Mithran’s film, especially the portions for his second look. Mithran’s usual team comprising cinematographer George C Williams and composer Yuvan Shankar Rana are part of this cast. An official confirmation regarding the film will be out soon.
