Actress Kareena Khan has remarked that she preferred the moniker "strong actress" above "dancing star" for herself. Kareena had expressed her admiration for the movie in an interview. She called the film a dream come true. She had added that it was "no big deal" since "anybody can dance and wear good clothes."
JP Dutta wrote and directed the romantic drama film Refugee (2000). Kareena and Abhishek Bachchan made their acting debuts. Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, and Suniel Shetty also starred in the movie. The box office earnings for Refugee were about average.
In an interview, Kareena talked about Refugee, "It is completely different role. It's not the stereotypical role of a college student. I have got a break that is a dream for me. Any other girl of my age will get such a role probably after five years of struggling."
She had also said, "I have got it in my first film. I have got a role that can help me prove I am an actress first. Anybody can dance and wear good clothes. It's no big deal. I don't want to be a dancing star. I want to be known as a powerful actress. I am glad I got this role because it is going to speak for itself."
At present, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, along with Kareena's spouse, actor Saif Ali Khan, are holidaying in Switzerland. She recently posted a video to Instagram with the caption "Christmas 2022." Kareena uploaded many photos from Christmas. Saif plays the guitar and her children Taimur and Jeh enjoyed the festive atmosphere.
Saif and Kareena have been married for almost ten years. Although they had previously collaborated on the films LOC Kargil (2003) and Omkara (2006), it was on the set of Tashan in 2008 that they first fell in love. And the two got married on October 16, 2012. The two welcomed their son Taimur in 2016 and their son Jeh in February 2021.
Kareena last appeared with Aamir Khan in Laal Singh Chaddha. The movie, directed by Advait Chandan, did not perform well at the box office. She will next be seen in the suspenseful film The Devotion of Suspect X. Sujoy Ghosh directs film. The film is based on a novel of the same name. Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma are also featured. In addition to that, she also has the upcoming, untitled movie from director Hansal Mehta.
