Kannada Activists Take Offence At The Trailer Of Pentagon

The trailer for the upcoming anthology movie Pentagon has drawn criticism for painting Kannada activists in a negative light and activists have taken offense about the trailer. Kishore and Pruthvi Ambar appear in the teaser. The teaser provides a glimpse into one of the stories in the movie. The movie's topic is allegedly based on death and its repercussions, and it was conceptualized during the Covid lockdown. Additionally, each story is linked to a specific book. The stories span a variety of genres and have various themes.

Rupesh Rajanna is a prominent character in the movie and a Kannada activist. He voiced his disapproval over the use of the phrase "roll call" in a loud objection. He also requested that the word be struck from the teaser launch event stage. He posed this request to the film's producer Guru Deshpande. Ashwini Gowda, a different Kannada activist, also expressed her displeasure with the use of the word "roll call." Guru Deshpande asked the two to watch the entire film before making a judgment about the film. The producer proposed this measure to persuade the dissenting voices. In a new video, a group of Kannada activists apparently threatens to occupy Guru Deshpande's office. They threatened this measure if the makers of the film don't rid of the term "roll call" from the teaser as well as the film. In the teaser, Kishore, a former mafia don, is shown playing the role of Kadamba Ramchandrappa. He is shown as the head of a Pro-Kannada organization. Pruthvi Ambaar plays the part of a man who wants to reveal Kishore's wrongdoings. Five directors—Akash Srivatsa, Chandra Mohan, Raghu Shivamogga, Kiran Kumar, and Guru Deshpande—are responsible for the anthology film.
