It has been nearly three years since we saw Kamal Haasan on the big screen. He was last seen in Vishwaroopam, which released in 2018. Though he makes an appearance on the small screen through Bigg Boss Tamil, he hasn't had a film release till then. ON the work front, he has director Shankar's Indian 2 and director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Vikram. While Indian 2 is stuck in legal issues due to creative differences between Shankar and Lyca Productions, Vikram is expected to go on floors in August. There are also talks that Kamal Haasan will team up with director Jeethu Joseph for Drishyam 2.
Since yesterday (June 29) there have been multiple reports on social media doing the rounds that Kamal Haasan's next film will be directed by Vetri Maaran and produced by Gopuram Films. Reportedly, talks between the two stars have begun and are currently in the final stage. An official announcement regarding the film will be made in the coming weeks. Vetri Maaran is working on a film with Soori and Vijay Sethupathi. Also, he will commence his work on Suriya's Vaadivaasal in September. Once he wraps up these two projects, Vetri Maaran will work with Kamal Haasan. On his part, Kamal will also complete Vikram and Papanasam 2 before moving on to Vetri Maaran's film.
