Kamal Haasan gets discharged from Chennai hospital

During the Bigg Boss grand finale last week, Kamal Haasan announced that he will undergo a surgery in his leg due to the fatal fall he took in 2016. He also added that this was a follow-up surgery to the accident that caused him harm. On January 19, Kamal Haasan got admitted to Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai for the ankle surgery. That day, his daughters Shruti and Akhara released a joint statement saying that the surgery was successful and thanked everyone for praying for everyone's recovery. He has been advised to take rest at home.

The press release from Sri Ramachandra Hospital read, "Sri Kamal Haasan was admitted to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre for a follow-up surgery in view of a mild infection of his right leg bone. He underwent surgery for the removal of the infective focus in the Tibial bone. He is stable and recovering well." On January 22, he got discharged from the hospital. His party (Makkal Needhi Maiam) members extended a warm welcome and had a discussion with him. Later, he headed to his home in the East Coast Road (ECR).
