Kamal Haasan will be starring in the sequel to his 2006 hit film Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. The latest buzz on the rumor mill is that the duo Kamal Haasan-Gautham Menon is planning to kick-start shooting in August 2020 and planning to release it by early next year.
Kamal Haasan has been busy with his film Indian 2 and other ventures. Sources say that Haasan shifted his schedule around to accommodate Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2. The actor seems to be eager to reprise his 2006 role. According to reports, the film shoot for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2 was to start in July 2020. However, the plans stand halted due to the coronavirus outbreak. The team is now planning to start the principal photography by the end of August or beginning of September 2020.
Accordingly, the film might hit the theatres in April or May 2021 as a summer special. Musician Harris Jayaraj who composed the film score for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu in 2006 might be returning for the sequel as well. However, a confirmation has not arrived. While Kamal Haasan is returning to reprise his role in the sequel, the female lead in the 2006 film Jyothika will not be returning. Reportedly, Anushka Shetty has been roped in to play the female lead in Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu 2.
The neo-noir film is being produced by Isari K Ganesh under his home banner Vels International.
Meanwhile, Anushka Shetty will appear next in the most awaited film Nishabdham. Kamal Haasan will be appearing in the sequel to his 1996 hit film Indian. It seems like the actor is gearing up to appear in sequel after sequel.
