Joker: Folie A Deux: The Intense First Look Of Joaquin Phoenix Gets Teased As The Sequel's Filming Officially Begins
As the sequel's filming got underway, director Todd Phillips unveiled the first look of Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck. The sequel is set to be released on October 9, 2024.
The Joker sequel, featuring Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga, is one of the most eagerly awaited movies of 2024. The sequel, which will once again be directed by Todd Phillips, will include Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in a musical. The director recently teased a first look at the movie by posting a photo of Phoenix on Instagram.
Phillips posted a close-up picture of Joaquin in his Arthur Fleck outfit as the filming for Joker: Folie à Deux began. The image shows Fleck giving a blank stare as he is being shaved by a person who appears to be a facility worker. In the subtitles of the picture, the filmmaker writes, "Day 1. Our boy. joker." While fans couldn't get enough of the heated first look, Joaquin Phoenix's sister Rain Phoenix responded with a shocked emoji.
The Joker sequel's plot hasn't yet been made public, so far. The movie will begin with Phoenix's Fleck being admitted to Arkham Asylum. Brendan Gleeson has been added to the roster in addition to Lady Gaga, who will provide a new spin to Harley Quinn in this movie. Joker: Folie á Deux will also feature Zazie Beetz, who previously played Sophie Dumond in the original Joker film, in the same role.
The Hollywood Reporter reported in 2019 that Phillips has already begun production on the Oscar-winning movie's sequel. Scott Silver, who co-wrote the first picture with Phillips, is said to be working on the sequel as well. Recently, the movie received a release date, and Lady Gaga shared the news of her casting.
