Legendary director Mani Ratnam is prepping for his ambitious film Ponniyin Selvan. He is trying to give life to Ponniyin Selvan for a decade now but his attempts cut short due to financial constraints. Now, the film is all set to go on floors in December with much fervor.
As reported earlier, Actor Jayam Ravi has finalized to play a pivotal role in the film. The latest development is that Jayam Ravi’s son Aarav is also a part of Ponniyin Selvan. Sources close to the actor revealed that Ravi and Aarav will play pivotal roles in this epic drama.
Ravi and Aarav had earlier shared screen space in the former’s film Tik Tik Tik, directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. They both featured in the song Kurumba which became a chartbuster hit. Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan marks the second film in which the father-son duo will share the screen space.
Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan will go on floors on December 12 in Thailand. The first schedule will go on for about 40 days. The prime cast of Ponniyin Selvan includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Keerthy Suresh, and several other top actors. AR Rahman will compose the tunes for the film.
