The Good Place actress, Jameela Jamil recently put out a personal statement. She focused on her mental health in the post. Jameela has constantly received criticism on social media about herself recently. It all began when Jamil faced backlash for news which stated she was to MC a voguing competition. Following this, the actress came out as queer. She faced flak for that as well. After that, whatever she posted and expressed, people passed comment on it. Some people also accused her of having Munchausen syndrome. The disorder means a person fakes mental or physical illnesses for attention. Jameela took to Twitter on Sunday and said she wants to respond to these comments on her life. She stated, “I’m tired of the bullying. The taunting over my mental and physical health.” She apologized to people who actually suffer from Munchausen for their condition got used to crack a joke on her. She considered that disrespectful. She recently went public and announced that she is queer. She also received criticism on that to which she responded, “Last week triggered me to a point of near-death.” The criticism was so intense that she triggered to commit suicide. She also stated, “I have a fragile past with suicide. If you live in pain and have to survive a lot, to still be here, it’s agonizing to have to tell people that you made it up." She has spoken at length about the toll the comments take on her mental health. One can only hope that these comments about people’s conditions will learn to take seriously. They cannot get passed around as a joke to put others down.
A final word on all the lies from last week about me and my character because they keep being thrown at me, and written about in articles and it’s infuriating to just rise above so people can draw their own conclusions from misinformation and deliberate chaos. Let this be IT. pic.twitter.com/xTyk8SN3T8
