Jackie Chan At Red Sea Film Festival: We're Discussing About Rush Hour 4

On Thursday, Jackie Chan made a rare appearance at the Red Sea Film Festival and declared that Rush Hour 4 is now in the works.

The renowned martial arts actor made the announcement, as per Variety, while discussing his next projects and 60-year film career at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Chan said of the success of the original movie, which he had assumed would fail, “I got a phone call. Brett Ratner and Chris Tucker call me from New York. They’re crazy. We were $70 million in the first weekend. For me, I don’t have a count of what 70 million is. I don’t know the box office. I just know it's certainly a success. And then they made part 2 and part 3.”

At the festival, he stated, "We're talking about 'Rush Hour 4' right now," adding that he would be meeting the movie's director later that day to look over the script. Filmmaker Brett Ratner directed the first three films, but he did not say who will be behind the camera for the fourth.

In November 2017, the said director was accused of sexual harassment and misbehaviour. Ratner hasn't worked on a movie since then. From 1998 until 2007, Jackie Chan co-starred in the hit movie series with actor and comedian Chris Tucker.

A Hong Kong investigator who is paired with an outspoken LAPD officer to investigate an international crime case is the focus of the buddy comedy film series. The two men end up becoming close friends despite being so drastically different from one another and driving each other crazy along the road.
