Rohit Shetty's Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh and Varun Sharma, has just opened in theatres. Ranveer Singh plays two characters in the movie, which debuted to mixed reviews. Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde also have significant roles in the movie. Ranveer's girlfriend Jacqueline had to slap him and Varun for an incident. On the first day of filming, however, the actress was so tense that she slapped them.
According to a statement made by Jacqueline Fernandez in an interview with news agency ANI, “I was nervous on my first day of the shoot that actually in real I slapped Varun and Ranveer in the shot. I was so nervous that I didn't act in the slap scene but slapped them. And after that I felt, I think I broke the ice. See we all broke the ice.”
Varun quickly responded, “Yeah if you (showing his cheek) call this ice” to Ranveer's joke, “Yes. Broke the jaw line for which I required ice.”
Cirkus is set in the 1960s and is based on The Comedy of Errors, which inspired Gulzar's cult comedy Angoor. Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Johny Lever, Siddharth Jadhav, Tiku Talsania, Ashwini Kalsekar, Mukesh Tiwari, Vrajesh Hirjee, and Brijendra Kala are among the other actors. Cirkus was made available on December 23, 2022.
Ranveer Singh will next appear in Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, directed by Karan Johar. The movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi.
