Famous performer Daler Mehndi made news today after being given a two-year prison. He is imprisoned for human trafficking that dates back 19 years. Reports in the media state that the police have detained him. In a case that dated back to 2003, the decision was made public on Thursday by a court in Patiala. His request for probationary parole was reportedly also denied by the court. In fact, it's said that the court ruled to have the Punjabi artist detained right away.
The complainant's attorney, Advocate Gurmeet Singh, spoke to ANI about the decision”. “Singer Daler Mehndi was sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a human trafficking case in 2003. He has been taken into custody (by police). His application for release on probation was also dismissed by the court”. It was a review hearing in the case where Daler Mehendi was found guilty of human trafficking in 2003. according to a story in Times Now. In 2018, he received a two-year prison term. Mehndi, however, received bail immediately after the ruling. Following the filing of an FIR at the Sadar Patiala police station in 2003. he was found guilty of violating the Indian Penal Code's (IPC's) sections 406, 420, 120B, 465, 468, and 471 as well as the Indian Passport Act.
According to reports, Daler was arrested by the Patiala police. Arrested along with his deceased brother Shamsher Singh and two other individuals. According to media reports, Daler Mehndi was the subject of about 35 more complaints of a similar nature. The police raided the singer's office in Connaught Place, New Delhi. and found enough evidence against him.
