Samantha Akkineni is one of the most sought after actresses in South India. The actor, who has been active in Tamil and Telugu films, has made his Bollywood debut with the series 'Family Man'.
The actress is currently sharing the highlights of Family Man Season 2. Samantha was speaking in an interview with the Indian Express.
Samantha reacted after she won the Best Actress award at the Melbourne Indian Film Festival (IFFM). The series continues to garner rave reviews and awards.
Samantha said that her decision to play the role in Family Man was like a gamble. The actress says that this character was a big risk to her as it was different from the ‘Cute Girl’ characters she had played before.
“I thought this character would either get along well, be noticed or be a flop,” Samantha said. Samantha's performance as a victim of the Sri Lankan Civil War is one of the highlights of the series.
The actress says that Raji's character has earned her a lot of compliments. Samantha added that she did not expect such a huge reception. “I did not expect so many people to call and text me. Even people who have not called me yet have called and congratulated me;” said Samantha.
Samantha says that she will choose more different characters at a new stage in his career. “Improvements can only be made when doing complex and multi-layered characters. Humans are very complex. We, humans, are not just black and white, as most of our movies show. I'm looking for characters who will find life in the meantime;” said Samantha.
Manoj Bajpayee played the lead role in the Family Man series produced by Raj Nitimoru and Krishna DK. Priyamani and Neeraj Madhav also played other important roles in the show.
