“I Believe That Doing Comedy Is A Tough Job”: Aiswarya Rajesh Talks About Her New Movie Soppana Sundari

Soppana Sundari is the name of Aishwarya Rajesh's upcoming film, and the makers have launched its title and first-look poster. Although a car plays a significant role in the SG Charles film, Aishwarya claims that there are many more intriguing aspects to the storyline.

“The film is about lucky draws. I play Ahalya, who hails from a lower middle-class family. What happens when someone who earns `10,000 wins a car worth `10,00,000? How does it change her life? The narration will be both funny and emotional,” begins the actress. Aiswarya then talks about the variety of characters she wants to do, “Of late, I have been doing intense and emotional dramas. In fact, my last four films had serious subjects. So, I wanted to do something in the comedy genre and was looking for scripts in that space. It was around this time that Charles narrated an incident that happened in his life. He developed a script around it and when I heard the narration, it was pretty hilarious and I just had to do the film.” Aiswarya is confident under the direction of Charles. “Charles has great comic timing and his writing is also engaging. Even while narrating the script, he brought out the emotions in his tone. I believe that doing comedy is a tough job. Sometimes, even if the script is funny, the humour can get lost in translation. So, it wasn’t really easy to crack comedy. Frankly, I went by Charles’s vision.” Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli and Karunakaran play Aishwarya's siblings, and Deepa Shankar plays their mother. The movie also stars Sunil Reddy, Reddin Kinglsey, Bjorn Surrao, and Mime Gopi.
