Director Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan is gearing up for a grand release in theatres on September 30. The film features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Jayam Ravi and Karthi in the lead roles. The team of Ponniyin Selvan has been promoting the film left, right and centre. After a whirlwind tour across the country, the team of Ponniyin Selvan is back in Chennai. During a promotional interview, Jayam Ravi, who plays Arulmozhi Varman in the film, revealed a funny exchange between SS Rajamouli and Mani Ratnam.
Reportedly, Mani Ratnam told SS Rajmouli that he completed the shooting of two parts of Ponniyin Selvan in 150 days. Rajamouli got up from the sir and told Mani Ratnam not to scare him. Rajamouli also added that he took five years to complete Baahubali 1 and 2. Then, Rajamouli spoke to Mani Ratnam about his shooting pattern and got tips.
Ponniyin Selvan is a period drama set in the 950 AD when the Chola dynasty was ruling Tamil Nadu. The second part of Ponniyin Selvan will release six to nine months after the release of the first part.
