Gopichand who has been struggling for a decent hit for almost a decade seems to have it now, during this pandemic period. His last decent hit film was jil which was in 2015 and since then he has made around 5-6 films, which just couldn't stay in the theatre for a while. Once such a film is 'Pantham'. This film came out in 2018, directed by the debutant K Chakravarthy. The plot is about a vigilante who taps the phone calls of corrupted politicians and aristocrats and distributes it to the needy. In simple, the film is a Robinhood-ish flick. The film received mediocre reviews during its release and could not sustain itself in theatre for a long time.
The film has been broadcasting on the OTT platform Sunnxt, it seems like the audience are getting a knack of it right now. Since the lockdown, all the audience has subscribed to the OTT platforms to entertain themselves. It has been a great time for the industry people in a way as the films that couldn't get a proper name or attention are attaining them now.
'Pantham' seems to behave a spike in the viewership since last week. This actually comes as a big surprise to everyone and has become the top trending film among the OTT platform. Even the audio, which is composed by Gopi Sundar, is getting good hits on the audio streaming platforms. Well, it good to see a great response and discussion about a good film on OTT which couldn't get in theatre.
