Amrita Suresh celebrated her first birthday after her marriage to Gopi Sundar. Gopi Sundar wished his lover with the caption 'Happy Birthday Kanmani'. A picture of Amrita hugging Gopi Sundar in a black t-shirt went viral in no time. Amrita and Gopi Sundar had made their love for each other public earlier. Later, all the details shared by the two went viral. Both of them are active on social media by sharing songs and travel details. Criticisms about Amrita and Gopi Sundar's previous lives and Gopi Sundar's living together were being discussed again lately. Gopi Sundar had earlier said that he does not respond to any criticisms about his private life, and whatever happens outside the gate of his house does not affect him. Gopi Sundar responded that when the criticisms about his life with Amrita went too far, he offered rice cake and egg curry to those who criticized him without doing any productive work. Amrita said that in the beginning he did not take the criticism to his face and at one point he reacted only when he was very tired of them.

They also said that they are progressing by maintaining happiness in life. 'Music has been with me since childhood and feels like stepping back into the musical family. There is happiness and peace in the present life. My daughter was also told about this relationship from the beginning itself.
