Shah Rukh Khanand Gauri Khan are one of those Bollywood relationships that are one for the books. They have happily been married for more than 28 years after all. But they did have a few problems at the beginning of their relationship. The time they were dating, he was “disgustingly possessive” about her. He would even force upon what she should wear. Shah Rukh Khan was immensely possessive about her when they were in a relationship.
In an interview, Gauri was also asked if Shah Rukh had always felt protective about her, she replied, “It was possessiveness. It has turned to protectiveness. He was disgustingly possessive, he was sick. He wouldn’t let me wear a white shirt because he thought that it was transparent. It was a kink in the mind, I think.”
When asked about how she dealt with the possessiveness, Gauri said, “I kicked him and left him for very long. He had to learn because I said, ‘Okay, bye. Otherwise, you will never see me again.’”
Even Shah Rukh owns up to the fact that he was “downright vulgar” then and went on to explain it was the insecurity that made him be like that. He said, “I knew her but nobody knew that I knew her, so there was this whole feeling of lack of ownership. Whether it’s a man or a woman, I think both of them want to have it. So one just felt like...somehow to control, and I had become very cheap,” He said that his insecurity came from the fact that they had to keep their relationship private at the beginning.
Shah Rukh and Gauri began dating after they met at a party. They broke up for a short period of time after arguments, and she traveled to Mumbai on a vacation with her friends. Shah Rukh Khan came to the city to win her back! He's the king of romance after all! He went to every beach to find her as he knew of her love for swimming. He found her at the last beach he visited and they have long been a happy couple since.
