Sardaar Gabbar Singh retained its lead character from the original. But the entire setup and story are completely different from the original. The story and screenplay of the film got written by Pawan Kalyan himself. While Harish Shankar has directed the original, Bobby directed this sequel. Kajal Aggarwal played the female lead in the film. Sharad Kelkar and Sanjjanaa Galrani played the other important roles in the movie.
