The microblogging site Twitter is a wild ride of all sorts of opinions and comments. While Twitter is one of the most used social media websites out there, it isn't the most loved one. Now director and filmmaker
Shashank Khaitan have announced that he is quitting Twitter as of Monday as he thinks it has become a breeding ground for hate and negativity. Khaitan has famously directed films like Good Newwz and Dhadak.
Khaitan said that he used to think Twitter can be a place to spread some good with the world. Instead, Khaitan said that everyone is using Twitter to just be hateful. He tweeted one last time writing, "Done with twitter... just a breeding ground for hate and negativity... very sad that a platform so powerful, could not be used to create a better world... praying for peace and love always... deactivating my account now ... @Twitterindia."
Khaitan also took to Instagram to share this news with his fans. He captioned his latest post writing, "Finally deleted my twitter account... I am surely inconsequential, in terms of followers and reach for the platform... but I believe every voice is important... hope such a powerful platform can evolve and reform to spread love and happiness ... Praying for a peaceful world always."
Earlier Shashank Khaitan also released a public statement about his film Mr. Lele starring
Varun Dhawan. Khaitan warned people and asked everyone to practice caution about any news related to casting calls for Mr. Lele. Khaitan said that any such casting call is completely baseless as the film is currently not even in works.
