Father and son duo Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan are ruling as stars of the Malayalam film industry. Till now, they have not clashed at the box office on the same day. But that might happen this time as both of their films, Kurup and The Priest is aiming for the release on Eid.
Dulquer Salmaan's Kurup is the biopic of the notorious criminal Sukumara Kurup. This film is being directed by Srinath Rajendran. This is the second collaboration of Dulquer with Srinath, the first one being the actor's debut film Second Show. The shooting of Kurup got wrapped up recently and Dulquer shared a heartfelt note about the film after completing its shoot. Moothon fame Shobita Dhulipala acted as the female lead in it. Indrajith Sukumaran and Shine Tom Chacko have played the other important roles in the movie.
On the other hand, The Priest is a drama that features Mammootty and Manju Warrier in the lead roles. This is the first time Mammootty has acted in the role of a priest in his career. Jofin T Chacko is directing the film. Nikhila Vimal has played a pivotal role in it.
The makers of both the films are planning to release their movies on Eid but nothing has got confirmed yet. Stay tuned for more updates on it.
