Megastar Chiranjeevi is currently busy working on a crazy project titled Acharya. Koratala Siva is the director of the movie. Right after the release of Bharat Ane Nenu, Chiranjeevi called up Koratala and signed this film. Matinee Entertainments is also associated with the film's production while
Ram Charan is the main producer. In recent interviews, Chiranjeevi confirmed that Ram Charan is on board for Acharya, to play a special role. Chiranjeevi has now spilled the beans on his relationship with Charan in the movie. There are rumors that Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan will play father and son. Chiranjeevi denied the same and added that they will play Guru and Disciple in the film.
Ram Charan will have screentime of more than 20 minutes in the film. Ram Charan will also make his presence in an important song and fight sequence of the film. The film unit already requested SS Rajamouli to plan the shoot of
RRR in a way that Charan can allocate dates for Acharya, for a month. Rajamouli obliged the request of Koratala Siva, the director of Acharya. The makers are now busy in finalizing the shoot schedules, which begins after the lockdown period coming to an end.
Interestingly,
Mahesh Babu's name in consideration for the same role but somehow Megastar Chiranjeevi denied the same. Chiranjeevi said that Mahesh was never in the list of considerations. Acharya stars
