Falguni Pathak: 'I Wish I Could Take Legal Action' On The Remake Of Neha Kakkar's Maine Payal Hai

Falguni Pathak is one of the legendary singers whose melodic voice has won the hearts of many. She is popularly referred to as the "Dandiya Queen" and has returned with a brand-new song in advance of the Navratri season. Falguni is thrilled about her new song, but Neha Kakkar has recreated her cult hit Maine Payal Hai Chhankai with Priyank Sharma, Dhanashree Verma, and herself. The artist Neha Kakkar and the song titled "O Sajna" have drawn harsh criticism from online users.

They have received criticism online for "jeopardizing" the ethnicity of the cult song. The original singer of "Maine Payal Hai Chhankai," Falguni Pathak, reposted the audience's responses on her Instagram story. "Sorry to our childhood memories that are being ruined with this cringe," said one of the messages. Another remark stated, "Band Karo ye paap. Please someone ban these autotune singers and their remakes lol". One user demanded that Falguni Pathak "sue" Neha Kakkar in the comments that followed, and another expressed his outrage by adding, "Like WTF Neha Kakkar, thank you for s**ting again on one of my fav classics."

While the internet is having a field day mocking Neha Kakkar's song, Falguni Pathak was interviewed about the same. The 53-year-old singer said she was overwhelmed with emotion when she saw how much her fans adored the original song and felt compelled to express their sentiments. The vocalist of Saawan Mein remarked, "I feel overwhelmed and touched on receiving so much love from all over for the song, so had to share their feelings".

Falguni Pathak also revealed that O Sajna's creators didn't approach her. She was asked whether she would take any legal routes against Neha as per the request of her fans. Falguni responded, "I wish I could, but the rights are not with me," expressing her dismay.

The Dandiya Queen responded "No" when asked whether the producers or Neha Kakkar tried to contact her after seeing the Instagram stories that shouted outrage over the altered version.

Falguni Pathak stated that she hasn't seen the remixed version yet on Friday, September 23, at the release of her new single. Furthermore, Falguni believed that the fans may be lacking "simplicity," which was present in the original Maine Payal Hai Chhankai.
