Lingusamy is one of the well-known directors in the South. Lingusamy also works as a producer. According to the recent news, director Lingusamy was given a punishment of 6-month in prison. The ruling is in connection with the non-repayment of the loan received for the movie "Enni Ezhu Naal".
Lingusamy himself has moved to his social media page to offer a formal remark regarding the matter. The great director has stated in Tamil that "It is my obligation to explain to all the buzz about me in the media. The dispute is involving our production company Tirupati Brothers Film Media Pvt. and PVP Capital Limited. They filed an appeal, and yesterday the Honorable Court decided on it. We will file an appeal in opposition to the court's decision and pursue legal action."
The Saidapet court sentenced the director to 6 months in prison in August 2022. This was due to check fraud on the part of PVP Capitals. Lingusamy appealed against this. The appeal was rejected by the Madras Principal Sessions Court. Sessions court also maintained the directive that the money be repaid with interest.
Lingusamy delivered a check for the loan sum. However, it became an issue for the director and his brothers. The cheque was rejected because the account had a low amount. In the check fraud case, the Saidapet Court later sentenced Director Lingusamy to 6 months in prison. The judgement was then appealed by Lingusamy and his brothers in the Madras Principal Sessions Court. The higher court has now affirmed the earlier statement.
