A few days back, the announcement of the remake of Mr.India created abuzz on social media. As soon as director Ali Abbas Zafar announced the remake of the film, people started questioning the Kapoor family about it. However, Sonam Kapoor stepped in to clear everything and told that her family wasn't consulted before the big announcement. She also expressed her dissatisfaction with the proposed project.
Sonam wrote, "A lot of people have been asking me about the remake of Mr.India. Honestly, my father didn't even know the film was being remade. We found out about it through social media when AliAbbasZafar tweeted. It's quite disrespectful and underhanded if it's true since no one bothered to consult my father or Shekhar uncle. Two people who played a major role in making the film what it was and is. It's sad because that was a film made with heart and hard work and is very sentimental to my father, beyond commerce and announcements. It's a part of his legacy. I should hope that respect for someone's work and contribution is still as important to us as a big weekend at a box office."
Now according to a report in a famous news portal, the announcement has created a rift between the brothers Boney and Anil Kapoor. Since Boney did not consult Anil before giving a nod to the project, the source claims that Anil upset with his brother. But, no official confirmation made upon this matter. Now it'll be interesting to see whether the makers go on with the project or decide to shelve it for the better.
