Dhanush said on Twitter that he will be reprising his role as Avik San aka The Lone Wolf opposite Ryan Gosling's Six a week after the Russo brothers revealed Ryan Gosling's comeback in The Gray Man sequel and spin-off. Dhanush shared an exclusive audio clip with his announcement on Twitter, giving a sneak peek at the movie's plot.
In the video, the Indian actor was overheard telling Six that they were both pursuing the same target. He continued by outlining his threats, stating that if he were to locate the mysterious runaway before them, he would put an end to them. Then Six is given the order by Avik to cease looking for him and steer clear of him at all costs. "The Gray Man universe is expanding and the sequel is coming… Lone Wolf is ready, are you?"
The Russo brothers have already expressed their desire to collaborate with the great actor again, thus the news that Dhanush will return to the franchise may not come as a complete surprise to fans. The brothers revealed the following in a conversation with Insider: "We’re fortunate enough to use Dhanush. We were not interested in him playing a one-off character who shows up just to be overcome by the lead in the film. He is as equally skilled and determined as Gosling is in the movie. He has a story that will allow him to come back into the narrative at some point — as his own hero."
