Deepika Padukone visits JNU to show solidarity with students after Sunday’s attack

JNU met with an attack by several masked goons on Sunday night. Armed with lathis, the goons destroyed property on campus and injured students and professors. JNUSU president Aishe Ghosh had attacked with an iron rod and suffered a severe head injury. Sucharita Sen, a professor of JNU was also injured.

 
Deepika Padukone who is in Delhi to promote her upcoming film Chhapaak was wearing all-black as a symbol of solidarity while visiting the university. Chants of 'Azadi' are said to have welcomed the Padmaavat actress to the university. She stayed for about 10 minutes and then left.
 
After news of Deepika's visit to JNU broke out and photos went viral on Twitter, BJP's Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga called for a boycott of her films. "RT if you will boycott movies of Deepika Padukone for her support to #TukdeTukdeGang and Afzal Gang," wrote Bagga.
