Chiyaan Vikram's Film With Pa Ranjith's Test Shoot Begins Today

Chiyaan Vikram has had a phenomenal year so far with the release of Ajay Gnanamuthu's Cobra and Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan. While Cobra received mixed responses, Ponniyin Selvan is a clear winner at the box office. Now, the actor is all set to move on to his upcoming film. As reported earlier, Chiyaan Vikram will join hands with director Pa Ranjith for his forthcoming film, which is tentatively titled Chiyaan 61. According to the latest reports, the test shoot of the film commenced today, October 12. The first schedule of this untitled film will begin in the coming days.

In an earlier interview, director Pa Ranjith revealed that the film will be set in an interesting world and that he has been involved in the research work for a long time now. He further added that the film will have a strong female character that has solid screentime. The film, which is set in the 1800s, will be shot in 3D and on a mammoth scale. The untitled film will be produced by KE Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green. The producer also announced that the film will have a pan-India release. Soon, the cast and crew of the film will be finalized and announced in the coming months.
