Mani Ratnam's greatest opus' creators unveiled Chola Chola, the second single titled song from the movie Ponniyin Selvan Part 1. The song's lyrics were written by Ilango Krishnan and was composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman. Aditya Karikalan, played by Chiyaan Vikram, has a love interest named Nandini, who is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and the song Chola Chola is dedicated to him.
Nakul Abhyankar and Ravi Basrur sing the song. It also attributes Vikram, the chola king and courageous fighter and lover, to a tiger. The creators remarked on Twitter after posting the lyrical music, "This is our battle cry! #CholaChola single from #PS1 OUT NOW."
The first song from the movie, Ponni Nadhi, was already published by the creators this month. The protagonist of the Ponni Nadhi song, Karthi, also known as Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan, rides a horse down the Aadi Perukku near the VeeraNarayana lake. It is a celebration that takes place during the Tamil month of Aadi.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play "Nandini," Superstar Vikram will play "Aditya Karikalan," Karthi will play "Vanthiyathevan," Trisha will play "Kundavai," and Jayam Ravi will play "Arunmozhi Varman" in the historical drama. There will be significant roles for Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Lal, Kishore, Ashwin Kakumanu, Sobhita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi as well.
The movie will be released in five languages: Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The first part of the movie is scheduled to enter theaters on September 30 of this year. Ponniyin Selvan is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's historical fiction book of the same name. In the book, Rajaraja Chola I of the Chola dynasty is featured.
