Chiranjeevi's Film Workers' Hospital Will Be Open By His Next Birthday

Telugu actor Chiranjeevi, who turns 50 on Monday, has announced plans to establish a hospital for the benefit of film employees in Hyderabad's Chitrapuri Colony. Participating at a Celebrity Cricket event, the star told people in attendance that the facility would be functioning by his birthday next year.

Addressing the gathering, Chiranjeevi said, "I've got this desire to build a hospital at Chitrapuri Colony. I have been nurturing this thought for some time now."

"I want to build a hospital at least with ten beds. This hospital should be able to address all the health issues of cine workers, which don't require them to go to big hospitals.

"...This hospital should be beneficial to all cine workers, who come under the BPL category or who get a daily wage," the actor said.

"The satisfaction I get out of doing this cannot be measured. So, the moment I got this thought, I started planning. I thank all my younger brothers who have lent a helping hand in this regard," he added.

The actor said he wanted to name the hospital after his father and declared, "On my birthday, I offer you my word. It will be ready by the time my next birthday rolls around. I will accomplish it regardless of the cost of crores. I would gladly accommodate anyone who wishes to join my project." The actor explained that he wanted to do this mission to give back to the profession that had given him so much.
