Chiranjeevi is one of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry. After the likes of NTR, Nageshwara Rao and Krishna, Chiranjeevi ruled the Telugu film industry for more than two decades. He enjoys a massive fan following among the people of Telugu land. Chiru is best-known for his commercial entertainers. But there is one film which made him cry and think that why was he not getting offered such films. That film was Kamal Haasan's Swathi Muthyam, which got directed by K. Vishwanath.
When Swathi Muthyam got released, Chiru was the reigning star in the Telugu film industry. After watching the film, he was unable to sleep for two days. He thought of why he is not getting such movie offers. He discussed the same with Vishwanath. Both of them have worked earlier for the film Subhalekha. But at that time, Chiru was not a star hero. He wanted to do an art film while he was ruling as a star. Thus, he made Swayam Krushi with Vishwanath. In this film, Chiru appeared in the role of a cobbler. To play the role with perfection, Chiru has hired a real-life cobbler on the sets and learned how to mend the shoes. The film was a hit at the box office. It also brought Chiru his first Nandi Award as Best Actor. Thus, Swayam Krushi became a memorable film in Chiru's career.
Currently, Chiru is acting in the film Acharya, which is being directed by Koratala Siva. Ram Charan and Niranjan Reddy are bankrolling this project.
