GodFather, starring Salman Khan and Chiranjeevi, is getting ready for its big Telugu and Hindi premiere on the fifth of this month for Dussehra. The movie is currently receiving an extensive promotion. They proudly unveiled the film's Hindi trailer today in Mumbai, in the presence of Chiranjeevi, Salman Khan, Satya Dev, and a few others. Chiranjeevi was questioned about his son Ram Charan's film RRR with Jr. NTR receiving all the Oscar hype at the trailer launch.
Due to the intense Oscar buzz around RRR, SS Rajamouli is now in the US performing many screenings for the movie. The movie's US distributors will submit it in numerous categories, even though it was chosen as India's official entry for Best International Feature.
Chiranjeevi remarked at the press conference, “It is a proud moment for me. I am very happy. This kind of day should come and it is not because of Charan also, it is a collective effort. Rajamouli, through that film, through the actors is trying to hit the bull’s eye and get the attention. If there is a possibility of Oscars, it is a proud moment for me.”
Chiranjeevi added that it is wonderful to see South cinema get not just domestic but also international acclaim. He remarked, “Long ago, I tried coming to Hindi films with a film named Pratibandh and then followed it with The Gentleman, Aaj Ka Goonda Raaj. At that time, I don’t know there was a separation between regional and national films. After that, I tried but I was so busy I had to concentrate on Telugu films. I was away from Hindi films. I always wanted to see, there should be one film that has an Indian feeling. There is no regional but Indian film. It is my strong wish that day should come”.
Chiranjeevi is now preparing for GodFather, which also stars Nayanthara, Salman Khan, Satya Dev, and others. It will debut on October 5, 2022, under the direction of Mohan Raja.
