After Nerkonda Paarvai and Valimai, Ajith Kumar, director H Vinoth and producer Boney Kapoor joined hands with Thunivu. The action entertainer will release in the theatres on Pongal 2023. The film also features Manju Warrier, Chirag Jani, John Kokken and several other stars in lead roles. Chirag revealed that he does not play a typical villain in the film. He will be sporting a corporate look in the film and shot for nearly 10-11 days. In an interview with IndiaToday.in, Chirag opened up about working with Ajith Kumar.
He said, "I’ve been wanting to work with Ajith sir from the time I started acting because he’s one of my favorite actors. When I went to the set for the first time, Ajith sir came forward and introduced himself. He then went to my makeup and spot boy and greeted them as well. For them, it was a dream come true, and they were awed by his humility and warmth. He is a man with a golden heart. I was lacking in Tamil, and he helped me with my dialogue and explained what each line meant because he knows Hindi and English. Though he’s a star, he’s very director-friendly. If the director asks, he’d keep doing the shot again and again until the director is satisfied, and will not throw around his weight as a star."
Thunivu will clash at the box office with Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu. After 8 years, Vijay and Ajith are taking on each other at the box office.
